Iris Kuo is a journalist and the chief executive of LedBetter, a startup that tracks data on corporate diversity. The company previously launched the The Gender Equality Index, a ranked database detailing gender parity in the leadership of over 2,000 of the world’s biggest consumer brands. Their data has been cited and covered in Fortune, Forbes, CBS News, and CNNMoney, among others. As a journalist and writer, Iris has been published in The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and Inc. magazine. She was recently named by Refinery29 as a leading woman working towards gender equality. In 2015, she received a Knight-Bagehot fellowship to study business and journalism at Columbia University and Columbia Business School, and also won a grant to start LedBetter from the International Women’s Media Foundation Howard G. Buffett Fund. Iris holds degrees from Columbia University and the University of Texas at Dallas, and is active in the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA).
