The Center for Youth Wellness is a health organization that aims to improve the health of children and adolescents exposed to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). It seeks to revolutionize pediatric medicine and transform the delivery of primary care for children in a way that recognizes and addresses ACEs as a major risk factor for chronic disease.
Why we invest:
We are funding a research collaboration that will investigate how childhood adversity affects children’s health. The Bay Area Research Consortium on Toxic Stress and Health, composed of the Center for Youth Wellness and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals of San Francisco and Oakland, aims to bolster research and scientific tools to comprehensively address the negative health outcomes associated with exposure to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
